Noosa Regional Gallery Masterclass Series - CLASSES BOOKING FAST


Noosa Regional Gallery is thrilled to provide an opportunity for locally practising artists to work alongside some of Australia’s most prominent artists during the Masterclass Series 2022. Only a handful of places remain for this series, so book your spot now.

  • Jewellery Making: Fusing Art and Fashion with Lisa Waup: Saturday 7 May 2022, 10am - 3pm

Lisa Waup will guide participants to produce their own unique brooch and/or earrings using remnant fabric from her collaboration with Melbourne fashion designer Ingrid Verner.

$120 Includes materials and light lunch.

  • State of Mind: Imagining Your Painting Persona with Chris Bond: Saturday 4 June 2022, 10am - 3pm

Chris Bond will provide you with visual prompts to construct an alter identity and make a work ‘in character’. Starting with an anonymous photographed face you will write a short biographical passage. Then, unleash the mind of your character through your own hands and create something extraordinary in the process.

  • Seeing the Body with Jacqui Stockdale: Saturday 18 June 2022, 10am - 3pm

Jacqui Stockdale will help you become an expert at rendering the human form in its entirety. By studying the life model through numerous exercises you will learn new ways of looking at the body and capture a pose in just a few minutes. Experiment with a range of mediums including charcoal and ink and brush.

  • Open Book: Creating a Visual Story with Tai Snaith: Saturday 9 July, 10am - 3pm

Tai Snaith will demonstrate her process of assemblage, arrangement and image selection in order to create a three-dimensional visual story across the pages of an open book. Using your own collection of small objects (made by you, or found) and a large, hardcover book you will create your own visual story.

  • Deep Cuts: Paper Engineered Linocuts with Brian Robinson: Saturday 30 July 2022, 10am - 3pm

Join artist Brian Robinson in an exploration of the medium of carving linoleum and cutting paper to produce black and white prints that fuse patternation and flowering plants together to create hybrid species.

  • Sculpting Species: Working with the Animal Form with Natalie Ryan: Saturday 11 September 2022, 10am - 3pm

Natalie Ryan will guide participants to create a sculpture of an animal working with air-dry clay. Learn a number of sculpting techniques using ceramic tools and hand-building methods. Photographic reference imagery and anatomical diagrams will be provided.
